walkthrough was chill, no pressure and nobody trying to sell me extras i didnt ask about. got the written estimate same day with everything broken down. once they started they told me what each day would look like so i wasnt stuck wondering when stuff would happen. floors came out really nice, color is exactly what i picked. the dust containment was way better than i expected too, barely had to clean anything after. paid what the quote said, no surprise charges at the end

so our floors had this orange-ish tint from whatever stain the previous owner used probably back in the 90s. it looked dated and clashed with basically everything in the house. we wanted to go darker and more natural looking. talked to a few places around Winnetka and NorthernMax gave us the most straightforward answer about what it would take to get rid of that old color. they sanded deep enough to get past the old stain which apparently had soaked in more than usual. took some extra passes but the result is worth it. went ... read more

Got a quote pretty quickly after reaching out, which was nice. They broke everything down so I knew what each room would cost before saying yes. Once they got going the sanding and staining moved along faster than I expected - I think that they wrapped the whole thing in about three days of actual work. The color we picked ended up looking richer than the sample, in a good way. Floors were ready to use by the end of the week and they've held up well so far.

had all the hardwood on our first floor refinished. were talking living room dining room and the hallway that connects them. the floors were original to the house so probably 40+ years of wear on them. lots of dull spots and some areas where the finish was basically gone. after sanding and refinishing the wood looks rich again, you can actually see the grain patterns now instead of just a flat worn surface. they did a great job around the edges near the baseboards too which i know is harder than the open areas. the color is ... read more
