I tore my ACL and went to the Saratoga Springs ER and the physician saw me for less than 5 minutes (the RN was great). The ED physician said I could walk out and it looked okay to him as far as he could tell via x-ray and exam and I didn't have any supervision on my way to my vehicle even though I expressed my concerns about safely ambulating. It sucks that when you need help the most you go to the ER, then you get screwed by the stupid billing services! Trying to get a detailed statement is so much of a pain, part of me wishes I would have died in the ER!
American Fork Hospital used to be my go to because the staff had always treated me much better than other Hospitals in the area but after my last experience I will never go here. It is absolutely ridiculous that they can send two separate bills. Because they split the bill my insurance doesn't cover what it usually does, leaving me to pay double. This is a terrible organization. I never recieved a statement in the mail. Then about a year later, I started getting weird text messages demanding payment that didn't seem legit. I don't know my account number because I never received a statement. I called around to find out who this was. I was told that their system was changed and that I had time to pay the bill. I took my wife to the ER in February. It was split into 5 different bills. I have paid all but one, which has been impossible to pay. I have called 5 times to try and pay. My insurance doesn't have any contact information for him to provide to me. Yet we received an automated message they were going to send us to collections. Would sure love to pay you, but you could not make it harder. Amazing that our medical system is so expensive and so unprofessional.
