Layton came to my rescue as my personal hero. Tub and toilet both clogged to point of no longer working. I have a spare bathroom, so there was no urgency, but he showed up that night anyway to help out a damsel in distress while I was being quoted $500 sight unseen from some yahoo in the trade who takes credit cards..ummm. Yesterday, Layton Norris of North Star Plumbing (great plumber reasonable fees 630 276 8435) repaired broken pipes and took out the old basement sink and got things ready for our fiberglass tub. He worked from 11am - 10pm. At about 10:30 he called to say he was at the WalMart parking lot on 83 and there was a cat in his car. He could have been an idiot and let the cat out in the parking lot but that's not our Layton. Layton's prices are extremely good and his work is great. After 20 years I had discovered a leak in my wall from a drywall screw. He made the repair perfectly. If anyone thinks a plumber or anyone else in the repair trades can be on time when you call him/her, it obvious that you do not know what goes into being at your house on time. Travelling from one job to another and things at the previous as well as your repair just doesn't always work out the way you planned. Layton does excellent work!!!
Layton rodded our sewer and made repairs to two sinks. He explained what he was doing, pointed out some areas of future concern and determined that a pump was working, even though a previous plumber told us that it wasn't. Yeah, he was late but phoned to tell us. People should anticipate this because a service technician frequently can get behind due to prior customer. His work was reasonably priced.
Very bad experience. He did not show up on time. Layton was very difficult to work with.
