RecommendedWe just moved to the area and my dog had ripped her nail off of one of her dewclaws. Dr. Spellman was quick, efficient, and explained everything to me very matter of fact. He noted that my dog was very nervous around the office (she’s generally very upbeat) and made sure that I was near her and in her view while he clipped nails, checked the claw, and gave an antibiotic shot. Dr Spellman treated my two very sick poodles with kindness and excellent care. His office staff are great as well.
If you want an honest & upfront vet that is super knowledgeable, this is the place. Dr. Spellman is a throw back, an honest to goodness ole country animal doctor. I had to take my Chihuahua in for an emergency on Saturday, the lady on the phone got me scheduled easy and I arrived. I have read several reviews here complaining that they are BLUNT... well I appreciate and want blunt, there are no games here... just great care for you four legged kids. Dr Spellman and staff are AMAZING! They will ALWAYS take care of my pets, after finding them. They have been so good with my Marvin and I am eternally grateful
Very happy with Dr. Spellman and his staff. I came from out of town and discovered on arrival my pet had an allergic reaction to shots. Dr. Spellman saw me right away and took very good care of my little dog Pearl. Dr. Spellman was also conscientious about cost, which I appreciate. I may just switch from my hometown Vet to North Lamar clinic, their service was so caring and accommodating.
New to the neighborhood, we called Dr. Spellman's clinic when our dog Fiver sliced his foot in our new backyard. Without hesitation, the clinic staff made us a walk-in appointment--we saw the doctor 45 minutes later. The entire staff is very attentive, competent and thorough. We so appreciate their care--and sense of humor. Thank you!

I have been bringing my beloved pets to Dr. Spellman for years! Maybe 30 years, I am not sure. I moved to Rockport but still drove back to Austin to bring my pets here. Besides being a great vet, he is funny, loves my Millie and I really trust him! Thanks Dr. S for being a great friend to my family member!
