Upon graduation from U.C. Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990, Dr. Branch joined Dr. L.R. Douglas at the Arcata Animal Clinic. In 1992, Dr. Branch purchased the practice and changed the name to North Coast Veterinary Hospital. After practicing on his own for 14 years, Dr. Carlisle joined NCVH as a partner in 1994.
