late night diner – Norm's is the place to go after a late night of clubbing or watching a movie in Santa Monica. Though the food isn't spectacular (it's pretty much the same caliber as Denny's), it's affordable and convenient. Their breakfast specials are extremely cheap and definitely worth it. Also, their shakes are thick and creamy, but don't order their lettuce wraps- they're pretty horrible.
cheap eats (get their nightly special) – A Norm's meal is far from a gourmet experience. However, you can't go wrong with the price. If you get their nightly special, often times it includes soup, salad, bread, the meal, and dessert, all for around $8. That, to me, is a deal. The Norm's on La Cienega is just north of the Beverly Center. It's an eclectic crowd in a good part of town. OLD FASHION GREASY SPOON – A ledgend in and around Los Angeles for 40 plus years. Great value for what you order. You will not leave hungry. Typical greasy spoon cafe with the cook in front. Grilled not flame cooked meals. These are the types of restaurants you want to take a large hungry family to. I strongly recommend a trip to Norm's as a return to the good old days of the 1950's style cafe.
Better value than Denny's – This Norm's is located directly across the street from Denny's. Norms is cheaper and a better value all around. breakfast specials start at 2.99 The early bird dinner specials are also an outstanding value.
Dennys or Norms? You pick! – This place is SOOO simliar to Denny's! It's just not EVERYWHERE as Denny's is, and the food tastes somewhat different. Other than that, they've got almost similar items on the menu's and the same kind of environment as well. Both are great places to grab food for late night dining, but don't expect anything romantic or that sort. It is Denny's competitor, so it's not much, keep that in mind.
