Do not eat here unless you enjoy bad food... – I like many other Bostonians over the years have heard about the "No Name", well, last night after day 1 of my girlfriend taking the BAR exam I walked down there to take her for a bite. The broiled scallops were as rubbery as a Michelin tire and the sauteed seafood consisted of frozen shrimp, calimari , scallops and vegetables (the kind of veggies you got at Friendly's in 1974, carrott rounds with the fancy fork cuts on the edge-yummy) cooked in about a 1/2 pound of butter. I am... read more
Great Value – No Name is cheap and has incredibly fresh fish. Order it baked, fresh fish needs nothing else.
User review by beentheredonethatsd – We saw this restaurant on City Search, which we use all the time in our travels. We were very disappointed. The food .....well let's put it this way, it ain't no Long John Silvers. There is no atmosphere, no nothing. We can't say anything good about this restaurant. And it truly breaks my heart, because I was raised in Boston. This is one of the worst reataurant we've every eaten in.
Absolutely Greasy Awful in Every Way – An extreamley greasy meal. The service was awful. The fish was good. There are no side orders that aren't fried. With the awards and reviews that I had heard I was more than disappointed. I want my money and appetite back.
No Name Restaurant The no name reastaurant is differnt than other regular reastaurants and has a wide selection of different types of foods and appetizers and they have good tasting food they are reasonabley priced and have a lot to chose from.
Don't waste your time – Lived in Massachusetts all my life and always heard "you have to go to the No Name" Not worth the effort. If you get there before they open you are left outside in a fish market industrial area. Packed in the restaurant like sardines. Average seafood and was not impressed at all. For the money you do not get alot of food. Went once and will never go again. Been there done that!
No Name, No Service, No taste, NO GOOD – I visited the No Name as I heard it was a "hidden gem." This is one gem I wish would have stayed hidden. You are seated in a packed dinning room so close to the other guests you could eat off their plates. If the waiter has the time to take your order get it all in at once, it is not likely you will see them again. The poorly presented food comes quick, so eat up and wash it down with some of the mirky tap water left on the table. You will then be ushered out the side door to pay your... read more
NO NAME – No Name was recommended to my party of four. We were all very satisfied with our meals. The freshest shrimp and scallops I ever had. And the chowder was outstanding, no fillers here. Staff was very accomodating, especially Nick! I would definitely recommend it!! We went on a Sunday afternoon and judging by the comments from fellow diners, all seemed very impressed with the food.
Best Seafood Joint In Town!! – After dropping over $130 at Boston's premier seafood restaurant, our trip to No Names was a blessing. We recieved 2 full lobsters, scallops, shrimp, their famous (and delicious) chowder, fries, and drinks for half of what we paid the previous night. The staff was friendly and courteous and the food was so fresh it tasted like they pulled it right out of the ocean (which they probably did since it is right on the pier!!). If your on a limited budget, this should be your first and only stop for s... read more
