Such a great Doctor
Dr. Sagar knows his stuff and is quick to identify which meds could alleviate a particular symptom. He also takes into account my level of comfort with adding or changing medication regimen and doesn't pressure or push. He allows me to take my time and decide what fits me and my lifestyle best.
Business response:
On behalf of Dr. Sagar, thank you for the review! We will be sure to share it with him and his team. We appreciate your feedback. Thank you again!
It went very well, I believe we are making great progress in helping maintain my sleep and anxiety.
He did not validate or even respond when I described my symptoms and personal history. Instead he interrupted me again and again to tell me how the medication I was on would do horrible things to my body: heart attacks in my 40’s, psychosis, etc. It felt like an interrogation. There was a lofty authoritarian tone about the whole thing. As I got emotional and upset he claimed this was evidence of how the medication was making me irrational. He did this again and again, cutting me off midsentence as I told him about my painful... read more
At our last visit my companion verbalized to the admitting nurse wanting to self harm. I also mentioned this at the visit. I am concerned that this was not addressed. No one asked if he had a plan, were there guns/meds in the home (there are.) His coping skill is to joke his way through visits which he achieved successfully. He has also told me of severe child and adult abuse not discussed. As his caregiver I see a totally different person every day. I am concerned about these statements.
My experience with doctor Sagar was very good. The first appointment as a patient was very intimidating. (your are seeing a psychiatrist!! ) He was not judgmental, perhaps using the computer a little more than I was expecting on the first visit. Doctor Sagar did make me feel comfortable enough to open up. We agreed on some way to help me, medication was prescribed. I followed Doctor Sagar plan on medication. On the follow up I felt comfortable discussing medication with him.
Dr. Sagar is awesome!! He took over both my daughters' cases from a doctor in Kansas City and continued on with their care with ease. I would highly recommend him for anyone needing assistance with behavioral issues.
Getting our son diagnosed was one of the scariest decisions of our lives. Dr. Sagar's professionalism, caring demeanor, and expertise put me at ease. Many families struggle with finding the right medicine for their child. Dr. Sagar was able to prescribe the right dosage/type on the first try. He is a doctor who truly cares about his patients rather than one who pushes medication for an easy fix. I would highly recommend his practice. We feel blessed that our son is under his care.
Dr. Sagar is by far the worst doctor I have ever seen. He constantly invalidated my feelings, made me feel like I was inferior to him, and spoke to me in a very condescending manner. He spoke to me as if I couldn't possibly be as intelligent as him, and he wanted me to accept his word as fact without questioning. The one time I did question him, and suggested that maybe I have another disorder, he accused me of being a drug seeker. BEWARE! The staff in his office, however were always pleasant.
