Nijiya market comes to the rescue whenever you are in need of Japanese ingredients be it the rice and the weekly supply of natto beans or just a pocky and ramune run. Check out the deli for fresh daily bento lunches, a variety of cold veggie dishes, Japanese fried chicken, croquettes, and, of course, the quick fix of a salmon okaka onigiri. Located conveniently in the same block as the Peace Plaza and Japantown mall, it's an easy stop for some red bean ice cream on the way back after a thoroughly Japanese afternoon.

We host Japanese exchange students, so it’s wonderful to have a place to get things to make their time here a little more familiar. My son has studied abroad in Japan and has grown fond of many food items from there, as have we during our visits - it’s wonderful to have a store that has the actual items we would buy while in Japan. Love this place!
Japanese!!! Yummy yummy. Could be something shiny and fresh from the prepared foods (that are 40% off in the later part of the day) or just some barley tea. Japanese candies and cookies and those crackers that are almost cookies if you are undecided. Matcha or calpico or ramune.
Came here after my short stint in Japan. It doesn't get more authentic than this place. Fresh meals done in house, not delivered.
Love it. Will be a regular from now on, every payday. Impressed by the selection and low prices.
