The doctors and nurses are amazing my son was there for 5 months in 2020
Many nurses and doctors here are awesome. However, question everything, do your own research, I trusted the wrong doctor that was rude and wouldn't talk to parents or explain my son's care. Not all doctors here are equal and I think my son would still be alive if he hadn't gotten a bad doctor during his 3rd week. I've never been treated so poorly by nursing staff. I sat in a hard chair for 14 hours a day next to my baby in the nicu, while all the dads who didn't give birth were given soft recliners. I finally got a recliner and they took it away from me to give to another mom, instead of taking one from a MAN. The nurses were cold an uncaring. I wasn't informed of the restroom in the nicu wing, so I hiked to the next nearest restroom to change my bloody postpartum pads and cleanse myself with cold sink water. The nurses are the true rock stars. Having to leave your little one behind is impossibly hard, their care makes it a little less so because of how amazing they truly are. It was an incredibly difficult time but our providers were patient, explained everything fully, answering all questions and concerns and they kept my son safe and so very well cared for. I hate that you can't stay overnight with your baby but the care and expertise on hand is phenomenal.
