I wouldn't bother sending your child here. They don't offer any real mental health treatment. As soon as it gets hard, they abandon your kid and kick them out. This is after they take your money of course.
My stay at Newport Academy in North Carolina was abusive, unsafe, and left me with severe trauma. I was only 13 years old when I entered, hoping for real help with depression, and being on the autism spectrum. Instead of receiving care, I suffered neglect, discrimination, and violence during my time there. One of the most terrifying experiences was being physically attacked by another resident. Our 15 yr old son just completed over a month stay at the Mint Hill location. He was apprehensive about going, and those first few weeks he wanted to come home but then there was a change in him. He became more confident in his coping skills, his leadership abilities and settled in. The amazing staff met our son where he needed to be met with therapy and supported him all along the way.
