I tried to cancel because I moved. The club wants me to pay my membership fees for the next 45 days and they want me to pay the annual fee again even though I'm not going to be a member for the next year! I explained to them that I no longer live in the area and I cannot attend the gym anymore. They didn't care! Do NOT join NYSC! They tell u that u have no contract & can cancel anytime without penalty but that is a lie! Horrible gym with horrible customer service!
This general manager Mike Velez is very unprofessional,refuses to help customers with problems. Very rude to customers refused to take a charge of my account which was by accident added on to my account. I would recommend anyone to deal with Mike Velez at New York Sports Club in Hawthorne, I will be speaking to his manager about his customer service
I love the club and theres a tom of cardio equipment, but the WiFi is always down. When you ask about it, everyone just answers “yea, some people have problems with it”
The cleanliness is horrible in the locker room and throughout..
I like the convenience of the gym but it’s really dirty and the spin bikes are run down and seem to never get fixed or at least stay fixed. Really a shame.

Cleanliness. especially in the locker rooms, is abysmal. The equipment is often in disrepair and it takes forever to get repair work done. However, I cannot agree about the staff. In Hawthorne, the front desk staff, in particular, is wonderful. Friendly and courteous, they look to please. And they all have amazing memories; they know everybody's names. I love the spin classes (and they are usually full, which is the good and bad of it).
Never had an issue with this gym and the one in Hawthorne. Machines are always available when I go. Zumba classes are great with Gigi. As a passport member I have access to all locations.
