**************** is HORRIBLE !! I leave messages EVERYDAY for a simple yes or no ,claims manager doesn't call back! I'm about to get kicked out of my home because I have no money. Says on their website they have empathy and you get a fast answer and the managers stay in touch with you ....this is a false representation of this company!! I recently had a baby March 31st, 2023. My claim was approved for 6 weeks but due to employer policy. There is a 14 day waiting period you have to use PTO to cover those days. For that reason and because it was vaginal delivery NYLife only pays 4 weeks.. i am on 5th week of my maternity leave.. and even tho my claim was approved. same thing happened to me basically and when they sent me to there doctor was never notified by them just received a certified letter, notifying me of my appointment, but not who made it or anything like that I thought it was Social Security. And even after their doctor stated that I cannot do things they still closed my case I have hired an attorney.

Terrible! Absolutely unacceptable. After filing the initial claim for short-term disability, their website no longer allows me to upload documentation. The doctor has faxed them the documents they require and they say they do not have them. They gave me an email address that I've been emailing the documents to and they say they've only received two of the 10 that I sent! The whole purpose here is to keep you from complying with the requirements in order to avoid paying you. The people you talk to on the phone are quite frien... read more

Terrible disabilty insurance. I have spen hours on the phone with them. at first there was a 7 week delay in getting payment. by the time they paid me it was time for a doctor's form and notes, so I didn't get paid for another week. I asked the claim manager several times on a recorded line, if I went back to work below 15 hours a week would they pay the difference in hours at 60%? she said yes, that my company would pay me at 100% for hours worked and NY life would pay the difference in hours up to 32 at 60%. Very poor service! I was out on STD for an accident and they recently denied an extension of my claim against my MD recommendation. My MD has sent them follow up documents and medical records and I called my claim manager ****** multiple times about the documents being sent and she never calls back and says she receives them. Today they updated on their portal no medical records received, follow up efforts stopped even thought I uploaded the documents myself in addition to my care team sending it. Very stressful company. This is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. There is no point in having a case manager when you cant even speak to them. I have left numerous voicemails and requested call backs to understand why my claim was denied when my doctors sent in the paper work. I was told it was cancelled somehow not by me then it was denied. The representatives are no help and never know what they are talking about. I have been told even if I escalate there is no guarantee I would get a call back so what is the poin.

I have a STD claim through my employer Navy ********************* Filing the initial claim I received great service. Filing my first extension was ok at best. Now the service from New York Life is horrible. My claim's manager has changed without me being notified and the only reason why I know is because of me calling in. The current claim's manager that I have can never return a call back request no matter how many messages you leave (voicemail & with representatives over the phone).
