I found a bed bug the first night I stayed. I asked for a full refund and the owner’s nephew, Mike, said no. They would only refund what I had not stayed. Booking.com said they had no problem with a full refund and would ask the owner via email if he will issue it, but Mike was rude and money grabbing. Not sure where the 5 star reviews come from nor what room they had but in my experience with room 230 I did not feel comfortable enough for a "3 star hotel". The TV was old and the sound system on it was bad. There was dust on the TV, the alarm clock, the tables, the room phone, and pretty much anything that wasnt the bed, couch, or sink lol. This was the most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed. The room was filthy the counters weren’t wiped down, splatters all over the walls, the floors were stained and filthy, and the light switches had crusty stuff on them that needed to be wiped off. We stayed for some night on a drive from Denver to Chicago. The hotel was rated as good on a couple sites and it was late so we booked without looking much further into it. The front desk staff were nice when we checked in and checkin was smooth. The hotel was a little rundown with general mildew smell and some grime, but we typically don’t mind that for a budget stay.
