I was at New Haven when I was 15 years old for 7 months. I was almost brought to tears reading these reviews, as they are so spot on to what I experienced but I guess I didn't realize others felt the same way. It is a corrupt place with people who have no idea what they're doing and use shame and religion to "treat" patients. It was so validating to read these reviews and realize I was actually RIGHT about how messed up it was there, I wasn't just a crazy child as they made me believe. I haven't really described to anyone h... read more

The only good thing about new haven are the connections I made with my family once I left and with my two best friends. I don’t know how to describe new haven. Looking back it feels almost like a fever dream. Strange punishments for minimally negative behaviors were extremely harmful. A girl was forced to carry a bag of rocks for a week on her back, while another was not allowed to speak. I was forced to wear a clown nose for a week. Therapists are not committed to their patients in therapy sessions, but rather having connec... read more

Sitting here laughing/crying cause I spent a year in a hell hole called New Haven full of "therapists" and *doctors" and through all that time y'all never correctly diagnosed me. Mfs took a year of my life to give me the wrong meds and the wrong diagnosis and actually just completely fucked me up the rest of the way, but hey at least Jesus loves y'all right👌 You don't help. You literally made me tell the entire facility I lied about being raped when I didn't, you invalidated my feelings every day. You took away my art stuff... read more

I was sent to New Haven in 2013 for depression and anxiety at 15 years old. This place is a SCAM that preys on struggling young girls and their desperate parents. They charge an exorbitant amount of money for sub-par living conditions and, at best, morally questionable 'therapeutic tactics'. I will highlight a just couple of incidences during my time here that I hope will shed some light for those contemplating seeking help from this establishment. One instance happened with a therapist by the name of Brad Rentfro, who was ... read more

I was sent to New Haven Residential Treatment Center for 6 months in 2002 when I was 15. I was just a kid, struggling with depression after a brain injury sustained in a skiing accident. New Haven RTC is not a safe place for any young woman. I still suffer with trauma from my experience there, and hope that anyone reading this will research the ongoing abuses occurring there before even considering sending a loved one there. The watchdog group HEAL has given New Haven a “red/confirmedly abusive” rating, which they define a... read more

My daughter spent a year at New Haven. It was a life changing experience for all of our family. We were met with constant loving sincerity, and a truly engaged staff. The process of being able to hear and then apply the treatment approach that was recommended was at first difficult. If I had not been at my wits end, I think that I would have been more resistant to change, and not benefited as much from this process. As it was, it was clear to me that I needed to be open to both help and change, and New haven offered m... read more

Degrading, shaming, humiliating, and abusing teenagers in the name of treatment. I spent two years at new haven, I’m still in therapy for the treatment I endured during my stay at new haven and for family issues that were never even touched on while at new haven. https://petitions.moveon.org/sign/please-protect-the-students http://www.heal-online.org/newhave.htm https://fox13now.com/2017/09/26/utah-county-therapist-arrested-for-alleged-sexual-abuse-of-underage-girl/
