New Copper Penny trying (again) to go back to live music – Club, in the past two years, has gone from DJ to Live Country to Live Rock. DJ/Rap is the only thing that brings a crowd in this part of town and changing the genre once again, has emptied the place out!
Dance Dance Dance! – New Copper Penny switched back to Dance and Club music in September 09 and the place is better than ever. Great Food, Full Bar, Hot DJs, bartenders and cocktail servers make for an awesome night of fun in SE Portland. The updates to the sound and lights make the dance floor come alive. The VIP area is chill with leather couches to sink into between dances or pool games. The BBQ rib dinner was fantastic!

Party Bar This is a bar to party at. It is full of people from ages 21-35. The drinks are strong. You can't miss the place. It has a huge penny for their sign. Look for their specials.
Avoid on Monday-Friday nights – It was my friend's birthday so we all went. Compare to other clubs downtown, it is extremely lame with a lot of big chubby women. All the waitress was really hot and the music is ok(strictly all Rap). The drinks is overpriced and you have to wait a very long time just to get in. If you're into big/chubby chicks that's down with gangsta wannabe than you will enjoy Copper Penny.
Great food, hot servers, slammin' tunes – Live rock-n-roll on Tuesday nights, live rap & Hip Hop artists on Mondays, Latin Dance party every Sunday night - reggeaton, salsa, the works! The dance floor is huge and the air conditioning has been working great everytime we've been in. Friday & Saturday night after hours , lots of FREE on site parking - with security guards walking the lot all night and they always escort us ladies to our car when we ask. The Penny! – I have been to the penny for the last 12 years and always feel comfortable and have a great time with the dancing and fantastic light show! The serevers, bartenders and bouncers are all top of the line. I appreciate the fact that you have options of pool, off track betting, dancing and good eats. Keep it up JZ!
