Had New Berlin heating come out for annual maintenance on the furnace. Was told that the secondary heat exchanger was going to fail, was not covered under warranty. and that I needed a new furnace at a cost of $8,000. I got a second opinion. Was told that the secondary heat exchanger was covered under warranty for 20 years, which I confirmed on the manufacturer's website. I had that second firm do the annual maintenance and they found the secondary heat exchanger appearing to be almost new. They ran diagnostics and found car... read more

Business response:

Mr. Kisielewski, I'm sorry for what you have been informed on the heat exchanger. To clarify, the technician took pictures of water stains in the bottom of your furnace, which are attributed to the secondary heat exchanger failing, and went over these with you. The technician also documented that the inducer motor is vibrating, indicating a future failure. The inducer would not be in warranty. We will make sure the technician is versed on the secondary heat exchanger warranty. For clarification on CO, the numbers you referen... read more

FYI: In this Heat people beware May12, 2022, we called New Berlin Heating and Air, I had someone come out to check my father’s air conditioner that wasn’t working. The service visit cost approximately $90.00. My Son and I were told we needed a brand new air conditioning system, it was completely broken down and they don’t make parts for this style anymore. We were also told we should replace the heating (furnace) as well. The cost starting at $8,000. Starting cost because he went on to say prices change quickly. . The next d... read more

Business response:

Please provide the address of your father's home so we can investigate this matter. We have not record by your name, and have no way to verify any information.

We were in Arizona when our furnace in Wisconsin went out. Mike from New Berlin Heating came out to repair it and said we needed a new furnace. We made arrangements over the phone for a new furnace at $7518. After thinking it over we decided to get another opinion and another repairman came out the same day, repaired the furnace and said Carrier would cover everything under warranty. It cost us nothing to have it fixed. We couldn't call New Berlin Heating to cancel because of the weekend but called Monday, within 3 days of o... read more

Business response:

You disputed the charge of $1500 with your credit card company, that credit card company charged back New Berlin Heating for the funds. If you have not been refunded by your credit card company, you need to take that up with them. Everything you paid towards the new furnace was refunded. The credit card company has had your funds since 3/22/2022.

Today my furnace was tuned up and a filter kit was replaced. The technician, Cipriano did a fantastic job. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He taught me things about my furnace and thermostat that I did not know. He was kind and relatable. I have also had good experiences with a technician named Spencer in the past. I believe that New Berlin Heating and Cooling's staff is an asset to them. My compliments on their discernment in bringing on quality people to be the face, hands, and feet of their company.<br /> <br ... read more

Poor service. Make appointments and they show up whenever they feel like it. No heads up that they want to change a scheduled appointment. Call a half hour before they come on an unscheduled day. Will not return phone calls if you want to discuss the quality of the service call or what they found wrong with the system on their visit.

Business response:

Mr. ****, your statements are completely false. Our computer program time stamps when calls are received, entered and dispatched. You called on 10/15/2020, and made an appointment for 10/16/2020. You were given a timestamp for service between 12-4pm on 10/16/2020 to inspect your condensate pump. You were called at 1:35pm. You did not answer. We went to your home anyway, trying to take care of the service, arriving at 1:45pm. You were not present for the service. The person at the home let us inspect the pump, as we were call... read more

I wouldn’t recommend that these guys for anything. They talk a good sales pitch, but the service after the sale is terrible. Then, if you do complain on Social Media, the owner will no longer allow them to service the unit that they sold you; even though, they speak of the terrific customer service that they provide after the sale. Also, because they won’t honor the warrantee, a person is left trying to figure out who can service the furnace so the Carrier warrantee can still be utilized. This entire install by them has been... read more

Business response:

Mr. St. ****, your review of our company last winter (after we provided a warranty on your thermostat) clearly stated you would not use our company again. Yesterday, 9/10, you called, were abusive to our staff, swore at the person answering the phone, and insulted our company once again. Our staff does not ever deserve to be treated in that fashion. As a company we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. If you read your warranty documents, you will also see that annual maintenance is required to maintain your warrant... read more

The New Berlin Company's service technician recommended the complete replacement of a Carrier furnace and air conditioner for $8561.00 or, as an alternative, repairs and replacement of parts for $2404.51. On advice of the Carrier Company, second opinion was obtained from a factory authorized company. The estimated cost obtained from Peoples Consolidated Heating is $578.00, plus taxes. Under the alternate of repair and replacement of parts, the New Berlin technician recommended replacement as follows: Infinity Control (thermo... read more

Business response:

Our company gave an itemized repair bill and an option to replace the system. The items quoted to be repaired are as Mr. U******* indicated. The inducer motor @$896 is recommended to be replaced as it is vibrating. The vibration is acknowledged by Mr. U*******, and the second opinion company, yet not accepted as a recommended repair now, but may need to be replaced in the future. Any motor that vibrates we recommend replacing, as this is abnormal, and we cannot guarantee performance or reliability. The technician who was on ... read more
