underated – No anywhere I would go on a date. But this place is alot of fun. Great place to meet up with friends and have a chill night. Theres a dance floor in the back, which makes any bar better. And they have a downstairs where you can hang out for a more quiet, comfy room for friends. I love this place.
Heaven – I've been searching for a great sports bar like this for several years. My search is over! This is clearly the best place to be in North America if you are a soccer fan. Unlike other self-proclaimed soccer friendly bars, Nevada Smith's doesn't just show 2-3 soccer games per week and then switch back to baseball or basketball the rest of the time. At Nevada Smith's its soccer 24/7/365!!
Comedy Thursdays – I was at Nevadas last Thursday and caught the Comedy Soap Box - I'd seen it at the Underground before, so I'm happy it's come downtown. Wednesdays are open mic and free - I'm going back next week.
Authentic smoky pub – As good as watching the footy in London. Only complaints: $20 cover each to watch the Worthington Cup (exploiting the ex-pats) and the downstairs is dark like a dungeon. Might be cheaper to just pay for Fox Sports.
Soccer and Comedy? – I absolutely love this bar, and have been going there weekly for years. I hear they're adding stand-up comedy on Thursday nights downstairs. Could this be true? If so, that's incredible - now I don't ever have to leave.
a desert oasis in NYC – Nevada Smiths NYC is simply THE place to go for televised sport . Great atmosphere , great vision angles for the TV's and great beer too !!! Really friendly staff and a clued up loyal international customer base make this THE place for sports' followers of all nations . If I lived in New York I'd buy a bed and put it right next to the Guiness pump !
Spanish Liga too – Very nice place where you can see the Spanish LIGA, and the best club in the world: FC Barcelona. The only inconvenient is that there is no food.
Great Craic Jack!! – Nevada Smith's is a lifesaver to ex-pats keen to get their weekly fix of English Premier League football. There's always a game on - and if it's not on "live", Jack will stick a taped game on for you. Great beer - great service. Cheers Jack! Mine's a pint of Boddington's!!
A world of its own – Footie heaven, home of the NY Blues, (Chelsea Supporters Club) and other supporters clubs (unmentionable), this place exists in the peculiar world that is the ex-pats/local fanatics of English football. Its funny to read the other reviews that are full of derision and basically say the place is a dump and a waste of space. It is a dump.
