This review is long overdue. I had pediatric brain surgery in 2001. (I was 15 years old at the time.) I am now 40 years old. Dr. Mahmoud Nagib completed my brain surgery on a Hypothalamic Hamartoma. I still remember what an amazing doctor/surgeon he was/is, and am still very thankful to be here, and thriving after having such hard issues with my tumor. I’m 29 and have suffered with Hydrocephalus my entire life. Dr. Mahon has been my neurosurgeon since I was 6 months old. Over the course of 15 revisions, Nagib and his team on Stussy and Clarine have gotten me through the toughest parts of my life. Nagib has even flown cross country on Thanksgiving day just to operate on me. Dr Michael McCue has done two Hemilaminectomies on my C5/C6 and C6/C7 a few years apart. He did an outstanding job and both healed perfectly! He also did my carpal tunnel surgey on both wrists and perfection again!
Dr. Nagib fixed me and gave me my life back, after having a previous surgery from another surgeon that did nothing!! That surgery was in 2014. it is now 2024 and I still feel great! I had a microdiscectomy on L4/L5 that gave me severe sciatica pain down my right leg. Prior to the surgery I could hardly get out of bed. Thank you Dr. Najib!!!!
I met with Dr. Vasquez a few years back and wasn't as obese as I am today. Even then though, when he saw the curve shape my back has, he said, "Even if you lost weight, I wouldn't operate on that." My dad and my brother were there to witness him saying that as well. I still haven't had an operation on my back and just had an MRI showing further disc degeneration in my low back. So, if you are obese and have an appointment with Dr. Vasquez, I hope he's changed his attitude by now.
