I have been experiencing recurring seizures for the past three months and urgently needed an appointment with a neurologist, as I could not wait any longer. I was referred by the hospital’s emergency doctor to see a neurologist. However, I felt very disappointed with my appointment with Dr. Soundarya N Gowda. I typically see Dr. Schulman at this office, and he’s absolutely amazing—extremely knowledgeable about Multiple Sclerosis and truly attentive to his patients. However, after a recent hospitalization, I needed a follow-up appointment and Dr. Schulman wasn’t available. I was scheduled instead with Nurse Practitioner Stephanie Sil, and unfortunately, the experience was terrible. She was dismissive, condescending, and showed little regard for my concerns. Met with Dr. Gowdra today and her staff. All are caring, compassionate, thorough in explaining diagnoses, and most importantly attentive to questions and thoughtful in answers. Trying to reach the practice by phone is tough. Hang on that line, even though it is frustrating. It is well worth the wait. You’ll get a portal account once you’re in and the portal is easy to use to contact providers.
