This is a great lunch stop with spectacular views. The staff is friendly and efficient. If you are staying in the area, try a sunset dinner.
Amazing views while sitting outside with your basket of food from the restaurant. Lunch or dinner, inside or outside. The Phoenix gift shop there is well known.
What a view! – After a scenic Big Sur drive, it was nice to continue the views during our meal. We enjoyed the famous ambrosia burger (yum!) along with a nice glass of California wine. The place was packed so we did have to wait for a table to open, but it was worth the wait. It's definitely a must to sit outside (weather permitting).
Fabulous! This was the first stop on a weekend anniversary trip for my husband and me. It was so beautiful and relaxing with an incredible view of the ocean, and the food and wine were both very good. Nepenthe is highly recommended by us! We will be back!
Great place to chase away your sorrows In Greek mythology Nepenthe was the magical potion that would help you forget all your troubles and cares.Big Sur does that for me- I think it's one of the most spectacularly beautiful places on earth- and although Nepenthe isn't cheap- I still love eating there.1) The food is excellent2) The views are unbelievable3) They have a cool shop that's fun to browse in
to drive up the PCH and end up at this place..was like an oasis. Food was excellent and the view was incredible. Quite a pictuesque evening. Something you have to do in life. Trust me as i could talk about this place all day but you just have to go.
Breath Taking View! A wonderful way to dine with breath taking views of the California coastline. The food is fresh and very tasty. They also have a gift shop named The Phoenix Shop with unique one of a kind items. A Must See if you are in Big Sur!

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL! – I've been to Nepenthe once before & should have listened to my gut instinct & never visited this sham of an establishment again. Instead, I decided to stop here for dinner on my way down to the Lucia Lodge w/ my boyfriend. I would've been better off stopping by the side of the road with a cooler of sandwiches. #1 - we went to the bar to get a drink as the result of our hour wait (expected).
