Nelson's catered our wedding. The food was very good (affordable as well), and the staff was helpful and professional. I'd especially like to thank Sheila for her patience. She put together close to ten proposals for me when I wasn't sure what we wanted to serve and how much we wanted to spend. Having catered many weddings and events, she was able to answer all of my questions which really helped my stress level.
We love Nelson’s! We have been using Nelson’s for years to cater our Foundation fundraiser! They are wonderful to work with and the food is amazing! You won’t be sorry!!
Once again Nelson's was the STAR of the show! Nothing but great comments was heard about the the food once again and I have been so incredible lucky and humbled to work with such a great company this year! You and your staff have not only made planning and prep of the events that we have done with you guys so much easier but have eliminated a huge portion of the stress that guess with those as you quickly establish a relationship that is trusty and more than reliable! Horrible. I attended a family wedding this weekend. One of Nelson’s employees commented to a family member that they “better start praying over food for it to multiply.” Staff was very unprofessional.
We’ve used Nelson’s twice over the last several years for fundraising at my daughters’ schools. Each time was a huge success! Mindy was extremely helpful in organizing the event and making sure we got exactly what we needed. The food is always hot and delicious. We will definitely use them for fundraising again!

We went to a wedding last night and waited over a hour to be called to get in line to eat. When we got in line we were told there was only one of the three options left available as people before us were given multiple entrees. There were still several tables left to be called after us and several people who rsvp’d did not show up. The food we did get was good but when you pay for food per person you would expect there to be more than enough to feed all your guests what they want. We did a little research and discovered that for this wedding the buffet was ready for 6:00pm service, but as sometimes happens dinner serve times get pushed back and buffet service is delayed due to circumstances beyond our control. We have used Nelson's for post prom fundraisers and they make it super easy and everyone always loves the food, especially the chicken!
Get the Brisket. Or the Fettuccini. Really just anything they have lol. They've catered several different events over the years I've attended. Always great. If I ever personally needed a caterer, I wouldn't look anywhere else.
We just used Nelson's for a women's event at Windsor Road Christian Church in Champaign. Mindy was amazing to work with and helped us to create a menu that fit into our budget. The staff arrived on time to set up. I was a bit nervous when only two workers showed up to set up for 300 women, but they worked quietly and diligently and the food lines were ready on time.
