Dog Lover We have been bringing our labrador to NAH for 4+ years. We first learned of NAH because that is where our lab's mother (and her litter) is seen. We have received excellent care by all of their staff. They are compassionate and truly caring as they have also cared for our younger lab and daughter's cat. Best care for your pet!! We have been taking our dogs to Dr. Helwig for over 15 years. We typically move away from the Salem area but each time we move back we always go see Dr. Helwig. She has been one of the few constants in our pet's lives. She took care of our Labrodor from the time that adopted him and is now taking care of our American Bulldog. Good but more than other vets I took my dog to the neighborhood animal hospital. I thought they were good but I too felt that they were a little expensive. Also I got my dog from the humane society and she kept closing that one eye and it would have a discharge. Two vets including neighborhood vet presribed me expensive eye drops that did not help at all. Finally I took my dog to another clinic (cheapest in the area) and she had her bottom eyelashes turned in and this was causing eye irritation. They operated on this and it ... read more

Would recommend you to anyone searching for a caring & dedicated Dr. & Staff. Your House calls at the last minute request. Always a courtesy call to just ask how are babies were doing after an appt. Friendly & Helpful I like the vet at this clinic and she seems very thorough. They have a play room for children in their waiting area.They are on the expensive side. It's easy to get an appointment. They have a good selection of pet food and treats in the waiting area. The doctor was very clear in her explanation of treatments and my options. PROS: Knowledgeable, friendly CONS: expensive
