Now called “Navy Inn”. This is on Point Loma annex, not the main base at the mouth of the bay. 15 min easy bike ride to Old Town / NAVWAR complex. Clean and acceptable but no shade, no covered bike parking, not sure why the Navy can’t afford to update facilities with a $1 trillion defense budget. Paper thin walls, come prepared. WiFi by viasat is complete joke. Maintainers and staff clearly are dedicated and do a great job working with what they are given - lots of citrus and other plants planted / maintained by employees.

The rooms are repurposed barracks rooms; if you go in with low expectations, you'll be fine. The grounds and surrounding area seem pretty run-down and unkempt. Hard to believe this is still an operating base, looks abandoned.

Spent 10 days there and had cleaning service 2 times and they were back to back days. Also had a roach in the room. Called the front desk and there is nothing they could do until the morning and the next day they didnt do anything.

I had to stay here and wasn’t given the option to stay off base but if I had the choice I would have cancelled the first mention that there was no AC. The room has bugs. There is no AC. You have to Call to ask for replacement towels. The TV and internet was spotty. I asked to switch to a room with AC and there was none available. This is not worth the 145 bucks a night they charge the govt. I think DOGE needs to look at this contract for sure.

I've stayed here a few times over the years and I can say I have no complaints about it. The rooms are nice and the staff are amazing.
