Worst place I’ve ever been to. Patients are committing suicide left and right, African American patients get neglected due to the incompetent HMs, the chain of command is a joke, the CMC only cares about certain people, and they really don’t care about us like Michael Jackson says.

I was born here... ‘Balboa Hospital’ is my favorite military medical facility.

I was a civil service employee at NMCSD for 16 and half and I've seen the Outstanding Service that they have given to each and everyone of their Patients. I've worked on a inpatient ward for those 16 and half years so I've seen first hand how the Outstanding/Awesome Care Our Patients get.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday and I am amazed at how well I’m feeling already. I’ve never been sedated before and the team helped keep me calm before hand. Very grateful for such a great experience! I was dreading this and now I feel silly for it. 😂

The care team, on the 5th floor was outstanding. The X-ray tech HM2 Austin Dugan did and outstanding job, 6 hours of getting X-ray on my broken knee, and after He was off, he found out that I was on a 3rd trip down a came and help settle the crew down when the Dr wanted a hard X-ray because the were worried splinters, HM2 called the doctor and received clarification. Got the job done and got me back to bed. All my nurses and corpsmen were very professional and respectful and really assisted with pain management

I checked in to the emergency room with an actual broken ankle. I waited an hour for my vitals to be taken while other clients with stomach aches and stuffy noses were placed above me. I finally get back to a room and nobody is checking on me, I would sit alone for well over 45 minutes at a time and waited 2 hours for an x Ray because one machine was broken. I received a Tylenol for broken bones. One. Thank god I had a friend with me because I was always told that I needed to go somewhere but not actually directed on where t... read more

When a referral is put in, NMCSD denies it, you call to find out why. They tell you to be seen by a civilian doctor, that it will be quicker. REALLY? Because last time I checked, waiting to be seen for 3.5+ months is not sooner and NOT acceptable. Is this what NMCSD and #NavyMedicine have become?

Today Balboa Medical Center confiscated someone I care about cell phone and answered it on his behalf. After he was admitted to this hospital for high blood pressure due to an oncoming anxiety attack. His command refused to let him go on his own and forced him into a car with someone he did not know that left him at the hospital with no car. Once there, he tried to put his cell phone under his leg when an incoming call from me came in and was taken out of his hands and answered without permission. This is not only a violatio... read more
