I do not recommend this doctor. They have you make an appt w the doc and do the “bait and switch” for the PA. The PA was dismissive, not empathetic, gave zero diagnosis or pain management plan. The did however push opioids 3x after I explicitly said I was uninterested in that. The next day the PA called me to then recommend a permanent device be attached to my back to cut off the nerve pain, something that would be a “trial” in the office (hint: out of pocket). Dr Whittenberg is outstanding. She is the most compassionate, skilled and kind physician I have ever encountered.
Really wanted to see Dr Whittenberg. However, their phone system is not friendly. It would drop your call, gave in option of call back but no one ever called back after 24 hours, always stated you were in 2nd place then drop the call. The other centers do not assist with appointments. So I will look elsewhere
The office front desk is dreadful. I called to cancel an appointment. The phone system forced me to request a callback. Nobody called me back. I called back hours later, as soon as I mentioned this was my second attempt to get through, they placed me on hold. I was on hold 15 minutes before I finally gave up. This has been a horrible experience and I've never even met the doctor. Please find a way to treat people like their time matters.
This review is years overdue. I was a patient of Dr. Whittenberg when her office was in DC. I had severe lower back, shoulder and neck pain from an accident. I received facet injections, spine injections and something else I can’t remember. Within a few appointments coupled with physical therapy, my pain dissipated. A few years later I had pain in my hip area, and I ran straight to her office. It was bursitis and she gave me a shot and the pain was gone. I highly recommend her.
