My rental experience with National Car Rental in San Francisco was extraordinay. As an Emerald member I was able to select any car in the Emerald isle. Getting out of the airport was quick and easy. Rental car representative was courteous and friendly. Car drove well and had no issues. Return of the car was also quick and National representative was courteous. Got reciept almost immediately.
We rented for about 10 days over Thanksgiving. The small Ford was spotless but somewhat underpowered for the hills around San Francisco. It was difficult to accelerate into traffic lanes on highways. HOWEVER, the employees at the National counter were outstanding! At checkout the gentleman set our GPS for our first destination and for the way back to the rental car garage on our return. Appreciated the quick, efficient, and professional service both upon my arrival on Monday after two very long flights as well as upon my departure on Thursday. More importantly on Thursday I was met while parking my car by a very courteous and complimentary professional tech who not only pronounced my last name correctly but had my receipt in my hand faster than I could get my luggage out of the car. Have used Emerald twice. Both times the choice of cars was pretty big with minivans and SUV's available as well. In SFO the car started making a noise on the third day of the rental. I happened to be right near the airport so I went in to exchange it. There were no questions asked. I could choose a new car all over again and didn't even have to pay for the missing gas. Overall a great experience.
I have been a long-time user of Natl. Car Rental at Huntsville Intl. Airport. Excellent service and speedy processing assuming everything is in order. My last trip I was involved in an accident, had a difficult time contacting a live person on the phone. Became concerned enough that I did not want to let this go until the day of my departing flight so had to make a trip back in person to resolve. One opportunity for improved customer service then is timely phone response.
National is one of several rental car agencies my company allows me to do business with and I've been renting National cars only since 2001. I spend about 225 to 275 days a year in a rental car, so I am very pleased with National's service. I really like the pass the checkout counter and go get your vehicle and there are always many choices to select from.
During a rcent trip to Huntsville, National Car Rental company continued to provide excellent service and over the counter support. The car issued was wondeful, clean and performed exceptionally well.
The customer service agents were friendly and expedient. I loved my car it was clean and had lots of luggage space. My car was great on gas and rode well and price was within my budget. I will make National Car Rental my primary rental agency from now on...
Not a true National Emerald Club site, as you cannot choose your vehicle. They used to have a better selection of vehicles, but recently the vehicle choices have been sub-standard for an Executive Elite member. Most cars are filthy (had one infested with ants) or smell like some cherry scent you smell in a port-a-jon. When you complain, they give you lip service about how their management team will be in contact with you to discuss, but it never happens.
