I have been seeing Joyce at My Kind of Hair for many years, and I couldn't be happier. Before finding MKH, I spent far too much time and money trying different salons in the city. Joyce does an amazing job with my colour and has worked with me through many shades of blonde. My entire family now goes to MHK for colour, as well as cuts with Jan. It is convenient, good value and the whole team does an amazing job! I highly recommend MKH!
My experience with Marina and Hyacinth have been nothing short of amazing! I first started seeing Marina for facials in 2024, and after 6 months, she completely changed my oily and acne prone skin. It’s so clear and smooth, and I rarely have acne anymore. I keep coming back for maintenance! Hyacinth did a great pedicure for me. It was so thorough and relaxing, a very spa like experience. Looking forward to booking with her again!
I left my first appointment here frustrated by both unclear pricing and a notably unpleasant checkout experience. When booking, I specifically requested a “haircut appointment,” which was listed at $80. My service included a wash, cut, and a very brief blow-dry (about 5 minutes for my fine hair). At checkout, I was told the total was $125 (plus tax). In most salons, a basic blow-dry is part of a standard haircut to show the finished result, so this came as a surprise. It's interesting that this place has five stars. I haven't been to many hair salon so I don't have a lot of experience.. but I wouldn't have considered that as a five-star treatment. One of the people who works there, who is either a manager or front desk person, is a little bit rude. I don't know if she means to be rude, but she seems frustrated with basic questions and is quite abrupt in her answers. I don't want to describe them because I don't want to single them out.
