Circumcision is child abuse and it legally needs to require the patient to be 18 years or older to consent due to the obligatory optional nature of the procedure. To perform circumcision for religious purposes before the child is able to understand the consequences makes the situation akin to grooming. Very rarely is circumcision medically required and the conditions needed for the medical issue to arise is from improper hygiene of the child on the parent's end.
