Specialties Off Campus Furnished Student Apartments History Established in 2013. Brand New sustainable living project in downtown Portland. Innovative design to be completed in the fall of 2013 with the addition of a ground floor restaurant in 2014. The property name is MW8, which was created by owners Steve Masters and Tim Weiskind of Master's Equity, hence the MW and this is their 8th project.

Furnishings were nice and the in unit washer/dryer was convenient (although they can rattle quite a bit and the dryer takes a long time). Maintenance is amazing! Always quick to take care of work orders! Dustin is great too— very friendly and does his best to make sure your needs are accommodated for. The location is perfect, near PSU, food carts, and public transit. But if you are on a lower floor the streets can be pretty loud (MAX station, fire department, cars, etc.). I had a great experience living at MW8. The management team was extremely helpful, especially when I needed to break my lease due to personal circumstances. They were very understanding and worked with me to find a fair solution. Email communication was always fast and clear, which made everything easier. The room is big, especially for a student apartment in a downtown location — and the rent is much cheaper compared to other options nearby. I’m giving 2 stars solely because of the maintenance team—Miguel and Taiwan are fantastic. They respond quickly and take their work seriously. There's also a woman in the front office (unfortunately I didn’t catch her name) who’s always pleasant and genuinely helpful. That said, the experience with management was disappointing. The property manager, Dustin, came off as rude and dismissive. He seemed more focused on collecting rent than actually supporting tenants. Dustin made our move in process very rough and tried to charge us $200 to clean our apartment BEFORE we even moved in. The previous tenants did not clean at all and left a bunch of things that my other roommate had to get rid of themselves because Dustin didn’t even do a walkthrough before we moved in. (6 cartons of expired eggs in the fridge!!!) Our couch and chair were torn to shreds and we had to contact him 4 times to finally get them removed. He barely even shows up for his job on time so it was difficult to get a meeti... read more
