Never seen so many kids!
I wouldn't say give it a miss entirely, but if you're heading to New York then don't bother 'cause the contents of this museum pale in comparison to the behemoth Museum of Natural History there.
Mercury is missing! The scale model of the first (and smallest) planet in the solar system (part of the Museum's Community Solar System) was formerly located in the lobby of the museum.
The parking lot can be horrible. Build in some extra time for driving around looking for spots

Photographers, go to the fifth floor of the garage to get a perfect view of the Boston skyline.

The math room is awesome! Also- Check your local lib before you go, sometimes they have discounted passes for kids/families. A woman gave my family one and we paid $7/person instead of $22/person!
