The doctors and residents at MUSC children's health have always provided great care for my son. He gets a book every visit and they are always friendly and knowledgeable. Since there are many residents you may see many different doctors and some in training so it isn't exactly the same as having one pediatrician in a practice see your child. Outside of difference, the staff here are always excellent.
Every time you call to make an appointment, if your child is ACTUALLY sick, they will not see your child in the office, you have to go to after hours care or emergency room which defeats the whole purpose of having a primary care for your sick child. They will not see them.
The service is very poor. My son had an appoinment at 330, we checked in at 3:15 and still haven't gotten seen yet
Our son was referred to a neurologist and geneticist at MUSC for a potentially serious diagnosis. We had a teleDoc appt, and they were supposed to send what we needed for genetic testing. They said it should arrive in 10 days. 4 months later we have not received anything. We have called MUSC pediatric department over and over and over, being told each time, our sons doctor would call us in 24 hours. Nothing. Ever.
