I don't know about the competence and expertise of Dr. Murphy, because, regrettably, after waiting a month to see him, the receptionist and underlings he had working with him, were so rude and unprofessional that we couldn't get that far.First of all, his office is in a corner of the Texas Chiropractic College, which does not inspire confidence in a neurosurgeon. I went to Dr murphy several times between initial x-rays and MRI. I never saw Dr murphy only his PA on the last visit his PA said Dr murphy would not ruin his reputation by operating on me .as there was a good chance i could come out worst than going in. I went to another doctor for my surgery.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Murphy for 37 years now for seizure disorder and I have no intention of leaving! Simply put, he is the best of the best! He spends quality time with you in the exam room, and he never rushes you! I’ve recommended him to several others over over the years, and all love him dearly! He’s always careful to listen and he goes the “extra mile” every time to make sure that all of the I’s are dotted and the T’s are crossed! It is well worth your time and effort to see him!
Dr. Murphy has been treating myself and members of my family for over 35 years for various conditions. Simply put, he is the best!!! He has wonderful bedside manner, he goes out of his way to listen to you, and explain things in a way that is easy to understand! He takes his time with you in the exam room and he is never in a hurry nor does he make you feel rushed or anything like that! He is a caring person and he cares about the person and not just the condition! I HIGHLY recommend him!!!!!!
My adult daughter went to Dr. Murphy due to high pressure headaches from her VP shunt malfunctioning. He spent less than five minutes with her, said come back in 1-2 weeks and he'd order a CT, but his staff person couldn't order it for another week due to being at his other office. We went to the E.R., got a new doctor, learned her IC pressure was very high, and her shunt tubing had disconnected. She had surgery to replace it. His flippancy and lack of attention to her condition were appalling.
