I live here now and love it. It’s affordable, close to the city, I have a yard, driveway, fenced-in back yard, etc. no where else this close to the city can you find that for the prices it is. The business district is also on the upswing. 👍🏽
I grew up in Mt. Oliver (1956-1979), since then I've lived in Williamsport, PA, Anaheim CA, Houston TX, Richland WA, Cranberry TwP PA, and several communities on the Central Coast of California. Of all of them, nothing compared to Mt. Oliver as a community or sense of place. I've been back to MT Oliver many, many times since 1979, and I've seen it go down but now it's on its way back. Look at Pittsburgh in 1970 and look at it today, Mt Oliver is a microcosm of Pittsburgh. Best of luck!
I think it is/was the greatest boro in the area for a long time. It has struggled with some problems lately and I admire both the residents and the people in charge for the work they put in and the faith they have in making their community a good one to live in. More power to them
Will there be a bakery moving back? The antique stores are nice. Ace hardware store rocks. Nice Barber shop. How about a dairy queen business coming down to keep businesses and children alive. Connects to Allentown!!!
