The exquisite cuisine has made a reputation for itself at this classic suburban chophouse. – In Short Mr. Paul's Chophouse has been serving guests for more than 30 years, and its reputation is second to none. Prepared at the table, the Caesar is the perfect beginning to the meal, while steamed mussels highlight the appetizers. The menu gives patrons plenty of variety, but the filet mignon steals the show. For seafood lovers, the broiled lobster tail is well worth the cost.
The Best in Town – I have enjoyed lunch or dinner at Mr. Pauls for over 20 years. The food has always been excellent, the service outstanding and the ambiance second to none. Whether you are going for a buisness lunch or romantic evening you won't be disappointed. I took my daughter there for lunch when she was 15, she said the steak was the best she ever had. She is 31 now and still stands by her statement.
pleasant surprise! – We were very happy with the atmosphere, value and charm of Mr. Paul's. Often, the options for dinner on the East side leave something to be desired... But, Mr. Paul's has a retro charm and unique features we didn't expect to find. It doesn't look exceptional from the outside, but is worth the visit. We were especially impressed by the caesar salad made table-side.
Delicious – Absolutley, positively the best food in the detroit area, been there a few times. But the service(waiters) are very rude and snobish. And I agree on the prices being alittle high, but sometimes its worth it!! Very romantic atmosphere.
Simply the best! – I've eaten at some of the country's best restaurants (Tavern on the Green, Russian Tea Room, Spago's) and by far, this little obsure restaurant in the middle of an industrial stretch is the best! I've never had a bad meal there and the service is superb (ask for Mary)! The crab stuffed sole is heavenly, the filet is perfection and the prime rib is obscene! Chautobriand for 2 is an event. And table-side Caesar salad? Fuhgetaboutit!
Service for Mr. Pauls – I am disabled and the restraunt is fairly small, the staff is very helpful, making sure my wheelchair can get in and out without incident. The food is unbelievable, service is excellent and the price is a tad expensive, but with the quality of the food I have no problem paying a little extra. This restraunt needs to help others like Capers. Show the how a real steakhouse/chophouse should operate.
Mr Pauls IS the best – I have been to 7 of the 10 listed Steak Houses, I cant believe the people have gone to Pauls and still listed Pauls below them. I have yet to find anywhere that compairs, The Filet Mignon is the best I ever had and at about $22 you cant beat the price for a high grade steak. I think if people who tries Pauls, would mostly rank it at the top.
Best kept secret in Metro Detroit – Forget the high price chains. Paul's delivers on food, service, value. I've been going there since 1972 and have never had anything less than a perfect experience. The best Caesar salad you will have anywhere. Attention to detail. Paul, Chris, and Peter Gogo have carried on their father's legacy. There is no better steakhouse in Metro Detroit.
Go. – If you haven't been to Mr. Pauls, GO.! The best French Onion Soup anywhere, great service, atmosphere & Food!!! Pure & Simple...the BEST!
