Dear Mr. Burnham, I am writing on the behalf of a tenant currently being asked to leave the apartment he signed a lease for because of the actions of a former roommate. Mike Burnham is the Great Gatsby of this building, seeing as nobody knows who he is, and it's one of the most remarkable parts of staying here. In most cases, this works in the tenants favor. Great, clean apartment; affable tenants; pets allowed; trash is removed routinely and for free; Lenny and the maintenance team are highly responsive. My roommate and I left quite a bit of junk out back when we moved, but Mike returned a very generous amount of our security deposit anyway--more than I'd anticipated. All in all, very good service, very good housing, very good price. Would've stayed had I not left Portland.
I lived in 419 Cumberland for almost a year and if I hadn't moved for work I would have renewed my lease. We were allowed to move in a week early for free because the previous tenants had vacated early. Also important - we terminated our lease early and were not made to pay out the remainder (AND we received our security back). I've been living in Burnham Towers for over a year and have found the management and maintenance to be super helpful and punctual. Mike let me move in a week early when I was under a time crunch to have a new place, and he was very flexible with my second lease when my new roommate couldn't stay a whole year. Our maintenance man Lenny always gets right back to me if I have any questions or need help with any fix it problems. Dec 12 2012 I finally moved out of Burnham Towers in November (bought a house, I would have stayed at my apt otherwise) so I want to update my prior post (edit: deleted prior post to add this.. could not have 2 posts.. dumb) with a few comments in closing about my experience with MPB Properties. I have lived at 84 Carleton St for almost 5 years and have never had a single issue nor a bad complaint. The grounds was always kept tidy during all seasons, snow plowing was always prompt, and anything I have needed fixed, the maintenance man, Lenny, was just a phone call away, literally. I've lived at Burnham Arms for over 2 years now and have found the management and maintenance to be very helpful, honest, and there when I need them. I can highly recommend MPB Properties to anyone looking for safe, economical and comfortable apartments in the Portland area. My building (Burnham Arms) is well kept and clean.
