Excellent Every Time – I have been here a few times and it is consistently excellent. They have a shuttle service that will pick you up before dinner and take you wherever you want to go after dinner. My wife and I rode in their Bentley to a bar downtown after dinner a few weeks ago. The service, food, drinks, and atmosphere are unmatched. I highly recommend for a romantic date as well as a business dinner.
Great Place for food and music – Great food and the music was great. Reaggae Sunday is great! I really like the carribbean style options that they have. The patio is kind of an inside/outside pateo so you certainly stay warm on cold nights
Beautiful restaurant, great food! – Mozambique is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. They have three dining rooms downstairs, (one garden patio that's very romantic, a casual dining room that's South African inspired, and an upscale fine dining room complete with a romantic fireplace.) Great Bar Scene Great bar/lounge setting. A lot of locals. Joe the bartender is a great conversationalist and a very creative 'mixologist'. The food at Mozambique can be pricey, but the flavors are unique and interesting. Dan the manager is very accommodating and knows the restaurant business.
Awesome Sunday Night! – My wife and I, plus a good friend of my wife's had spent the day at the beach near laguna, so we were tired and beat from the afternoon sun. The restaurant was on our way, so we decide to stop for the happy hour and dinner on Sunday night. It was our first time here 8/10/08. Surprisingly, the bar was having a live reggae band (awesome group) performing the entire night and the decor with atmosphere blended very well. Live music and great music...not to mention the food! Mozambique is a great spot for happy hour. They have drink and appetizer specials. Live music is playing a few times a week too. Skip the valet, and park for free up the street. Prices are good, especially during sunset hour. The menu is very large and has quite a variety. A perfect spot for dinner with a group of friends.
Great Views and Experience I loved this restaurant and the food and drinks offered on the menu were representative of the area and very good. We were upstairs and the view was incredible of the ocean. The staff are great and fun and attentive. It's located right off PCH and they offer valet parking (which is great since parking is so fdifficult in that area). Prices are a bit high but quality of the food and drinks are worth it.
Fun place This is a fun place with lots of events going on. They have live music on some nights (which makes the place rather loud). The interior looks very special and nice. The food is creative but not especially great. The service is very friendly but a bit slow.
Interesting atmosphere, but over priced – I joined a group of people here that I had not met before. I arrived on time, but since the others were not there yet I was told to wait in the bar upstairs, which I did not appreciate. The restaurant had a very interesting atmosphere but the large round table we were at made it difficult to have a conversation with anyone except the people right next to you.
