I'm in love with the calamari and cauliflower with charred lemon - had a great first visit and will definitely be back
Me and my wife both REALLY enjoyed this restaurant. GREAT vibe and the food was just awesome. We had a cocktail (Low Country Cocktail), appetizer (Spring Hummus Toast), and entrees of Shrimp & Grits and Chicken & Waffles. Really blown away by this place and they source a lot of their items locally which is very impressive.
Love moxies especially the cheese curds and the wine and the kale salad is fab and the day boat scallops with grits are wonderful
The service was very good. The wait staff encouraged us to try certain things and were informative about the menu. The menu never really interested me, but I like to try things at least once. I don't enjoy the food here at all, however. I've been twice now, and everything seems to be fried or covered in creamy hot sauce. My husband and I had rare date night out and I struck up a conversation with a lovely lady next to us. Come to find out it was the owner's mother. She began to introduce us to her daughter (the owner) & grandson. They were the nicest people and made us feel like we were special guests. I couldn't believe these people's kindness to us. They have a true love for their restaurant and it is evident in every detail of the decor down to how they treat people. If you are wanting a special night out that is the place to go. Just found this restaurant while driving the less path travelled around the St.John's town center. I went in to see a menu because I liked the name Moxie. Fascinating menu. They had me at the pavlova dessert!! I will come here. It is also a beautiful building.
I've been twice so far and EVERY thing I've tried is delicious. It makes you want to eat really slow to savor each bite

I just want to take the time and say being a chef at Moxie is a dream come true!!! Moxie is my door of opportunity and When i first stepped through that door of MOXIE kitchen i realize this is where I was suppose to be, My level of care went of the charts and the food not only flows to my stomach also my Heart. Its one thing to eat at Moxie ,but to know the root of a dish and being blessed with the recipes of Chef Tom and cooking along side of him just amazung...if u havent been come check us out!!!!
