They try to be more good than they are, the crab cakes had more of and Herby and Earthy taste than a seafood taste, not that good. Every dish I had look like a salad. Too much earthy greens.
Last evening my family threw a surprise birthday party at Moxie. In addition to their usual YUMMY vegan menu, they baked a HUGE DELICIOUS vegan chocolate cake! I was already a big fan, but even more so now! My non-vegan guests all enjoyed the food and drinks tremendously. Kudos to Declan, who was extremely attentive, pleasant and fun.
First time to dine and have some cocktails. The food was so delicious, that we forgot about the drinks. Fresh, local food, what we look for. Friendly atmosphere! Thanks.

I considered a 4 star rating only because our recent server was lacking in the personality department and seemed like she would rather be anywhere but there. But aside from the one bad apple, every other meal we have had at Moxie was amazing! The staff is normally first rate. The chicken and waffles are like nothing you have ever had. Absolute deliciousness. Ridiculous Meatloaf and mashed potatoes. And if you are there for the brunch buffet, try the smoked salmon and house made pastrami. Menu is great and the service is outstanding. I have limited my visits here, though, due to the noise level.
Best dinner place around!!! My hubby & I both had meatloaf, collard greens & he had mashed potatoes & I had pimento cheese potato salad. I had a few glasses of wine & he had a few beers. It's always are fav place to go when we want "good food".
