I explained in some detail how I was ripped off by this place. I quoted Carley's admission. They replied mendaciously, eg "no one would sign for the check.". That a lie. We never got a check. I asked him to send it again since that supposed check wasn't cashed but he refused. The answer has other misinformation and we've heard from his staff and former staff that they knowingly and systematically do this. This is one of the best dental clinics I have ever been to. I arrived at 8 AM and the staff was quite ready—hospitable and patient. My consultation for the treatment plan with Dr. Schaeffer was thorough and detailed. I also appreciate being able to choose my music for the TV on the ceiling. Highly recommend everybody with a compatible insurance to consider this clinic as the first choice in the area.
I'm writing this review because my experience at Mountain & Sea Dental was overwhelmingly negative in ways that felt avoidable and unnecessary. My biggest issue was the ongoing lack of clear, accurate information. I was always very explicit that I only wanted the work we had agreed on--no surprises, no additions. Dec 9 2025 Patient (me) to Dr Carley by email Dear Dr Carley, I’m contacting you about the repeated $224 lab fee that was added to my account. This charge is not permitted under current dental billing regulations, and I was billed for it six times. That comes to $ 1344 I am requesting an immediate refund of the total amount.
