I had my first natural birth at this center recently with my fourth baby. It was everything I could have hoped for! We ran into a couple minor unforseen circumstances after my water broke and my midwifery team helped me navigate through an informed decision and ultimately birth at the center like I had hoped. Amazing group of women!
I cannot sing enough praises to the entire staff of the Mt Vernon birthing center. They are involved from the beginning to the end, not just with your physical health but true holistic treatment of the mind and body. They are so adaptable and understanding. They continued to be reassuring no matter what the crazy question or situation making me feel completely normal (even though every pregnancy and labor is different and there really is no normal). We will be going back for our future pregnancies and births for sure! The midwives were all so amazing, kind, patient, and involved my husband and older child in every prenatal visit. Our home birth was a whirlwind, but with Melissa and Chrissy there we knew we were in good hands, and our baby was born in the safety and comfort of our home. I recommend these ladies and to everyone.
I had a beautiful, intense experience giving birth at the birthing center. I loved the soaking tub and the nitrous oxide. That's a winning combination. ;-) But best of all were the midwives themselves who answered all our questions and took such good care of us!
