Editorial fromMo's Diner is not a diner at all, but a charming restaurant in a turn-of-the-century cottage with lace curtains, pine floors and a fireplace in every dining room. Chef-proprietor Hamid Mohajer and his wife, Holly, who makes all the…

An incredibly disappointing start to Raleigh restaurant week. On arriving for our reservation right one time, the host sat two couples that came in after us and the. preceded to say the table inside wasn't ready. Shocked really , we were given the choice wait or sit outside. He did apologize but he didn't seem any more empowered to improve our first experience thereafter. So I can't speak to the ambience of Mo's Diner as I wasn't given the chance to experience it. The night had cooled off so we thought outside would be fine.... read more
Simply Wonderful – Wonderful food, Wonderful staff It was like eating at your best friends house who just happens to be a one of the best Chefs you'll ever know.
This was the best restaurant meal I've had in my life!!!! – In October 2009 I dined at Mo's with a group of ladies from all over the U.S. in town for Clay Aiken's charity gala, and I'm from Orange County, CA. Just 2 weeks before, I had dined at Ruth's Chris Steak House here in O.C. and my steak at Mo's was sooo much better. First off, their Mojito cocktail was out of this world and after tasting mine, others at my table also ordered one and we savored every sip. For starters I had the sauteed spinach & cheese with phyllo ins... read more
Disappointed in the utmost – We went there last night for the 1st time and could not have been more disappointed in the experience. Overall, the food is actually pretty good. Not spectacular, but good. Unfortunately, this is so overwhelmingly overshadowed by the generally slow, unattentive and resoundingly lousy service. Lots of details to mention; 1. the server never introduced herself, 2. we were not asked if we wanted coffee with dessert, 3. waited well over 15 minutes between courses. The people working there just don't ... read more
Unethical Behavior – I have dined at Mo’s Diner many times, and the restaurant has always counted to one of my favorite places in Raleigh. My last visit was in March of 2008, and I paid with my credit card. A few weeks later, I reviewed my credit card statements and to my surprise the staff at Mo’s Diner had deducted a different amount. Upon this discovery I called the restaurant and spoke to the owner Mrs. Holly Mohajer. In a rather berating tone, I was told that I should call my credit card company to dispute the bill. I e... read more
Very good restaurant -impressive food, that is not over the top, intimate atmosphere – We ate at Mo's Diner on Valentine's Day for the first time. I was very impressed. First of all the atmosphere is such a nice change from your typical restaurant. The environment is very cozy and intimate and is quaint, which was refreshing. Secondly, the food was exceeded expectations. I ordered the Grouper and it was extremely good and very well prepared. My huspand got the Pork Tendorloin and he said it was amazing. The Garlic Mashed Pot... read more
Best Restaurant in North Carolina – We always go out of our way to eat here. All entries on the menu are prepared to perfection. Also you can not find better atmosphere or wait staff any where. Over the years we have been attended to perfectly by the same personnel. Best to make a reservation rather than miss out on a marvelous dinning experience.
Still my favorite place... – I've been going to Mo's Diner for 10+ years and it's still my favorite place to go for dinner, especially for our Anniversary, since we had our first date at Mo's. The note on the bottom of the menu says it all... "simple food prepared with care". I like the fact that the Chef at Mo's Diner doesn't use a ton of ingredients for each of his dishes (and I think I've had all of them). It's simple clean food in an old house that's really homey and romantic. My favorite dishes are the nightly fish spec... read more
Horrible Experience, Will Not Be Back! – I had the unfortunate experience of eating a meal at Mo's several weeks ago. And I will not be back. First off when my girlfriend and I arrived, we were not greeted upon entering this establishment. We found someone taking phone reservations and did not even recieve a "Just a second' type of statement to let us know we would be taken care of shortly. We were finally helped by a server. We were seated and then waited an unreasonable amount of time to be even given the pleasure of viewi... read more
