Your city needs to fire, arrest, charge and try many of your police officers for violating citizens rights who were involved in legal activity. You also have some business operators that do not believe citizens have rights to do legal activities and have to ID themselves to the police their are numerous videos on you tube showing how disgraceful your police and townspeople are to peoples civil liberties.

Disgusting place, the police have no idea what the law is. They assault people and then lie and cover it up. A sick place that should be investigated further, what are they hiding?

Call me crazy but shouldn't the police and especially the chief of police know the law?

Disgusting. Citizens harassed and arrested for committing NO CRIME! Your city will go bankrupt from the liability that your Police Chief is creating. He sets the example for the whole police department. Why would a citizen think that his officers would behave any different than he did and willfully, and knowingly violate a citizens rights. The Police Chief needs to be removed for the safety of the city.

Police don't like public photography and then won't respond to multiple calls for service to help visitors in need of assistance that they don't like. I will not spend any money in that town. If you do pay taxes there it looks like a lot of it will be going to pay off lawsuits. Residents just keep your head in the sand as your police dept is costing you lots on $$$.

These ongoing attacks on people engaging in legal photography by Morro Bay Police as well as intoxicated citizens with police support is beyond the pale in terms of willful disregard for the law. This WILL effect your bottom line in the tourism sector as many of us now plan on a concerted effort of exposure of this communities and more specifically, police department's willful disregard for the rule of law. We will expose you.

I recommend that all citizens stay well clear of the Morro Bay police department to avoid violence and physical attack by the Chief and his bullies. Ignorance of the law and willful disregard for the Constitution leads to violation of Civil Rights by a black police chief. Welcome to Selma and the likes of "Bull" Connor. Attacking a journalist engaged in First Amendment photography is beyond any explanation other than Psychotic paranoia on the part of the Chief and his staff. You are much more likely to be shot and killed by ... read more
