I have a TS MPPT 60 charge controller which blew up earlier this year. Having spoken to Morningstar who were not interested in replacing it under warranty, I decided to take a look at it. It soon became apparent that a group of 8 FET's that isolate the PV array from the CC, had gone circuit. Looking for replacement parts IR6646 FET's, I found they are only rated to 80v Vdss. How Morning star can claim the CC can handle 150v is beyond me. On the plus side, the MPPT trackig is pretty good.
Unfortunately the distributor for Finland offers no web sales. Lots of people sent links two other companies in Sweden and Germany, who ship to Finland, but I believe a company representing Morningstar should offer its customers the possibility to buy things online, and make it as simple as possible to purchase! What should have taken me about 20 minutes out of my day, has turned into a multi-day project, just to become a customer. Morningstar themselves deserve 5-stars for their support. I have been using this product for quite sometime now and it has not disappointed me or my customers at any time. I have decided not to use any other solar charge controller again except when I cannot lay my hand on one.
