I had a very disappointing experience with More Than Plumbing Services. I called them for a hot water tank replacement, and they tried to tell me I needed a new gas line, water line, and vent — all of which were still up to code and in good condition. Their quote for those unnecessary extras was over $800, and that didn’t even include the price of the hot water tank or the installation! Sent by American Home Shield for a slow drain. More Than Plumbing said the cause was roots in the line which wasn't covered by my home warranty and the cost would be $2,800 to clear the line. I was surprised at this since I'd had a huge plumbing issue 6 months earlier and I knew my line had been replaced, but I believed More Than Plumbing and tried to schedule the work. They were great super fast and easy to deal with.
My elderly father had a water heater installed today by this company and I stopped by 45 minutes after they left to find the cold water valve leaking water all over the top of the water heater due to a poor soldering job.They put back a rusted and corroded discharge pipe instead of just adding the new one that the heater comes with. The new gas valve was not installed that we paid for, there was globs of soldering flux all over the pipes and dielectric unions along with solder drips left all over on the new heater and pipes.... read more
