Absolutely amazing!! Definitely recommend!! The food is delicious the staff is very friendly and the wait is a bit long but the food is worth it!
We tried to get a table here Tuesday night for 4 people & were told it would be almost two hours for the wait so we went somewhere else. Stopped in at 2pm on Thursday to be told they were closed in the main dining room for a private event. I figured the powers that be just didn't want us to try this restaurant that people kept suggesting to us! I was very impressed; the staff was friendly, polite, courteous, and prompt. The ribs were so tender they were falling off the bone, and the onion blossoms were the perfect compliment. The mac & cheese was delicious, the asparagus was delightful, and the cornbread was super soft and warm. This place was definitely love at first bite; I can't wait to eat here again; well worth the wait....
Loved our experience here! Our server (I think her name was Liz) was so patient and accomodating! They do have a gluten-free menu which gives them an extra star in my book! I would not consider myself a big southern/comfort food person, but I knew ordering a salad would have left me in regret! I ordered the shrimp & grits and it was AMAZING. My Waterloo cocktail was also delicious! Oh, and... peanut butter mousse pie!

Top of the Day, due to heavy business and the Hostess Ashley came outside to inforn us where our name was on the list. And once we were seated Kate came to greet us and she was very courtesy. And the server Robbie was also super at her job. Great Food and My Doctor said eat in MORATION but I don't like " Carry Out". THE FOOD IS GREAT. We visited Moonshine this evening and we could not have been more happy with the food and service. From the host stand to getting drinks at the bar to our table service, it was phenomenal!! We ordered the chicken fried steak with Mac and cheese and the sirloin with blue cheese butter and green chile grits!! It was all insanely delicious!! Seriously if you ever come to Austin eating at Moonshine is a must!!!
I always check out reviews of a restaurant before going and this place had good ones for good food and good service. We went on 4/24 Sunday and saw they had valet parking so decided to get that , the valet guy seemed annoyed was not friendly , when I got out of the car another car parked behind us and the valet guy said in front of me "oh no not another one" which I thought was not very polite but I figured he was probably having a bad day. Had wonderful cocktails here early enough on a Saturday recently that our wait was only 30 minutes or less. The waitress brought us spicy complimentary popcorn as we waited. Our food was delicious and we will definitely be back. Southern food with a Modern twist. My son is a student at UT and I will look forward next trip to eating here again.
