FRIDAY HAPPY HOUR – Thought I would try something different for Friday happy hour with my brother who was in from out of town. I heard Montgomery Inn had a great happy hour so we met there. We got there @ 4:30 pm the bar wasn't real crowded so we got a seat @ the bar right away. Apps were 1/2 off and ALL drinks were $1.00 off . The service was great the Bartender was super and made us feel right at home. I will be going back again soon !
Still THE BEST – All three Montgomery Inn restaurants continue to provide the best food, service and atmosphere for a night out to eat. The ribs are still my #1 favorite on the menu but try the porkchops, they're tender and juicy, as well as the steaks. You can't go wrong with the menu they provide. Terrible service! – This restaurant was listed as one of the signature places in Cincinnati, so our expectations were high and disappointment even higher!!! We went there for lunch on Monday, expecting less people and prompt service. Indeed, we were seated immediately, but then we had to wait for the waitress for a LONG time and throughout the whole stay she showed up really seldom, didn't mention our signs and fulfilled requests (for extra napkins, for example) only after we repeated them several times! Still the one! – You will not find better ribs north of the Ohio River. I won't claim these are the world's best ribs, though. What you will get at Montgomery in are very most and delicious pork ribs, rubbed in fantastic seasonings and then covered in Montgomery Inn's signature BBQ sauce (sweet, not tangy). Yup, disappointing... – We drove to Cinci from Columbus specifically to go to the Montgomery Inn (it was recommended to us). Sorry, but I have to agree with the previous reviewers when I say I was disappointed with the very mediocre food. Personally, I liked the BBQ sauce (I bought some from the giftshop) but the meat was sloppy, greasy and just generally not good. My baked potato side was as hard as a rock. Gone down hill – hate to say it but Mont. Inn has gone down hill. The ribs taste precooked and then kept in a warmer or something and are becoming dry, sauce is still good. Service is more like what you get at skyline--herd them in and herd them out. Ribs tast and looked flat and not tasty.
Great, but overrated – Without a doubt, Montgomery's is one of the best Rib Places in the country, but it's over rated and over priced. There are a lot of other excellent Ribs places that are of better value.
I Love It! – I have eaten at all three Montgomery Inns and I always enjoy the food. Service is exemplary. I usually go early in the evening to avoid the lines. Try the ribeye seasoned, it is awesome!
Arrogance Spoils Appetite – This restaurant exudes such an arrogance because they think they are an "institution." Host staff is snotty. Food is overpriced. Management feels no need to correct a problem by working with the customers. The attitude here is people will keep coming because of who we are. Arrogance is very unappetizing.
