Great ribs and service - perfect for a gathering. – The traditional BBQ aficionado may find the ribs at Montgomery Inn a little different that either the Kansas City or Memphis style. Just plain terrible and overpriced – Growing up in Kansas City, I gained experience with a wide variety of Bar-B-Q. The first time I ate here, the waiter said, "This won't be like anything you've ever had in KC." He was right about that. I tried ribs and shrimp on the first experience, and the ribs had the worst flavor of any ribs I have ever eaten. The shrimp was deep fried and obviously freezer burned and overcooked. Best ribs anywhere – Montgomery Inn's ribs are the best I have eaten anywhere, hands down. They are definitely really saucy, but the sauce is fantastic so I can't complain. I've moved out of the area to Texas, and I really, really miss this place and haven't yet found a place in Houston that even compares.
Ribs are great ,try the steaks, chops and special salads, too. – Try any of these restaurants on a week night, service as well as food are excellent. If you are not in the mood for ribs, give the chops or steaks a try. I always order my steaks with their special seaoning. I'll take the rib-eye any day. Beware-- Hidden charge-$1.00 up charge for on the rocks cocktails – My family and friends have enjoyed going to Montgomery Inn for years. I was so disappointed this past Valentines Day with the up-charge on my cocktail. Mind you the charge was only a dollar but it is the principle of the matter. You are asked up or on the rocks. Be preparred to wait... – I can honestly say that I have never had a more disappointing restaurant experience. Be preparred to wait and wait and wait... if you want to try the food at The Montgomery Inn. My family and I were on vacation in Cincinnati and we were told that the food was very good at the Montgomery Inn. What we weren't told was the "hoops" that we would jump through to get a table in this restaurant. Phenominal, Time After Time!!!! – After several years and a few locations here and there, the Montgomery Inn is still the BEST!!!! The Original is my favorite, most of all for the familiar and friendly wait staff. Every time we go we can expect the "World's Greatest Ribs" and the "World's Greatest Service". We will continue to visit and will always recommend this "Cincinnati Tradition".
