I attended my friends’ wedding here recently. The venue itself is pretty and the location is convenient. But the couple getting married had a lot of extra stress during the planning process and on the day of the wedding because of communication issues and disorganization from the venue. The venue seems to have problems with staffing and timing. The line to get a drink during cocktail hour snaked around the bar and out the door of the lounge area. UPDATE: After posting this review and attempting to obtain even a partial refund for the $10,000+ we paid The Monte for services that were never delivered, the venue attempted to threaten us with a lawsuit—dramatically having lawyers “serve” us with paperwork instead of engaging in any good-faith resolution. Despite refusing to refund even a single dollar, The Monte chose intimidation over accountability. Beautiful venue, but be prepared for unprofessionalism, mismanagement, and the most horrible dinner service. The Monte has unfortunately not seemed to make its comeback following its reopening under new management. We were really excited to get married at The Monte. The only reason I give this place any star is because of my fabulous friend—the bride—who did so much to create the best atmosphere possible by being as fun and affable as possible. This venue certainly did her absolutely no favors there. The wedding itself started late, and rather than letting people sit and meander around the ceremony space, we were all herded into the side bar for a pre-ceremony drink.
