Normally I would give this place a higher rating but today the place sucked. It was obvious from the hostess that she was mad we were there then we got completely ignored. We never got waited on.Two ladies waltzed in took a corner booth and bam a waitress was right there taking their order. Thanks for not waiting on us!
Not only is the food good, but the train memorabilia collected over many years is quite the show. As soon as you enter their parking lot, it's all about trains. Once inside, they have many rooms devoted to the train life, from oil cans to Diner car settings. An impeccable marvel to see. I highly recommend, The Whistle Stop Restaurant, to everyone but especially to train buffs everywhere. We were there yesterday November 29, 2017 for the first time. I loved the salad bar and my husband really enjoyed the hamburger of the month. WOW, The museum was packed full. Didn't expect that. It was hard to take it all in. We really enjoyed ourselves and plan on going back. If you love trains, this is a place to see!
Our family has a yearly tradition of going to Jasper Pulaski State Park to watch the Sandhill Cranes migration. This is our stopping point. We usually eat lunch which has always been great! The salad bar is wonderful. And the ice cream!! This year we stopped during breakfast and it was excellent!! There were 5 of us, we all had something different and no one had a complaint about their meal. The museum and trains are neat too.
